Request Materials

You can place a hold on materials that are currently checked out or not owned by your local branch. The next available item will be delivered to your preferred CMPL pick up location. You will be notified by either email, phone, or TXT message that your held items is ready for pickup. Resident holds will be given priority over nonresident holds.  You have 5 days to pick up your held items.

Can’t find what you’re looking for? The library provides the opportunity for residents with a valid CMPL card in good standing to request purchase of materials not owned by the library through this form. If you would like to suggest a purchase, please fill out the form. Please wait until after the publication date of the books you’d like added to the collection. We will evaluate these titles for purchase closer to their release date.

OTHER LIBRARIES YOU MAY USE
As a participating member of the Suburban Library Cooperative, CMPL cardholders are eligible for borrowing privileges at any of the libraries in the Cooperative.  You may also return CMPL items to any of these locations.

Use the SLC catalog to find materials at other libraries.

CMPL residents can borrow books from other libraries across the state and have them delivered to their local branch through the MeLCat program. To search for and request materials from the statewide catalog, choose Search All Michigan Libraries on the online catalog.

Traveling across the state? We have expanded your book borrowing privileges to over 300 libraries throughout the state of Michigan with the MiLibrary Card program. This allows you to check out print materials from other libraries across the state.

Staying local, but need more in-depth research? As a resident of Macomb County, you are eligible to check out items from the Macomb Community College Library.
