CMPL is dedicated to being a part of the community it serves. We are pleased to offer outreach services to the Chippewa Valley Public Schools, Clintondale Community Schools, L’Anse Creuse Public Schools, Fraser Public Schools, Utica Community Schools, as well as the many preschool/day cares and parochial schools located in the Clinton Township and Macomb Township service areas. For more information about any of the services offered below, please email YSOutreach@cmpl.org.
Let the library come to you and your students directly in the classroom. We can walk you and the students through particular databases that are relevant to your current assignment.
Bring the students to the library and we can customize a tour tailored to your classroom needs/assignments. Tours can include in-house database training, library scavenger hunts, story times, book talks, free exploration time and much more!
Teachers in the Clinton-Macomb Service area can receive a CMPL library card. Bring your driver’s license and school ID or pay stub to any location to sign up and receive your teacher card. With the teacher card you will have access to the following online services through CMPL:
- Electronic Reference Databases
- Gale Courses: offers free 6-week online classes and includes courses on teaching and education to help you keep your skills up
- Pronunciator foreign language learning program
- eMagazines (over 90 popular titles)
- Five free music downloads per week (over 7 million commercially produced songs)
- Use of the library’s public computers featuring Office applications and Internet access
Kindergarten Challenge Visits
Enjoy a story time visit with the librarians and your Kindergarteners! We will sing and dance and read stories from the Kindergarten Challenge list.
We are happy to visit with your parents during conferences, check-ins, kindergarten round-ups, and curriculum nights to highlight homework help tools to parents and teachers.
