A Little Duck and Her Way to Happy by Madison, Beck Elementary
It was a beautiful sunny day, and a small red headed girl named Celia was walking to the store. This was her favorite store because it sold anything to imagine. Pets, veggies, water toys, and more. When she walked in there was a duck walking around. An employee scooped her up and put her in a pen Celia bought the food her mother needed for dinner and left. As she was walking through town she saw some flyers that said:
Please adopt Roxy the duck. She needs a home and we need your help to give her a family with love. Were giving her away for $59.89.
At once she recognized it was the duck she saw at the store. She took the flyer home with her. When she arrived she gave the food to her mother to start dinner and brought the flyer to her room. She sat down at her desk and studied the flyer. In her head she thought "I've got to adopt her". When her mother called her down for dinner she was smiling. Her mother said "why so happy". Celia said "I have a question". Her mother said "yes". "I saw a duck who needs a home, so can I adopt her"?. Celia said. Her mother said
"yes but you have to buy it, and take care of it". "but I only have $1". Said Celia. "Then you have to save up". Her mother said. "can I be excused". Said Celia. "Sure". Her mother said. Celia put her plate in the sink and went upstairs to her room. She got out a piece of paper and turned on her computer and looked up the closest job. The jobs that came up were seven eleven which was sweeping , and the super market where the duck was. Of course she picked the super market. Since it wasn't dark she got to go to the super market. Since she wanted to be quick she got on her bike and rode to the super market. The manager said handing her a paper. "fill this out and bring it back tomorrow". Celia took the paper and rode her bike home, arriving just as it got dim. She filled out the paperwork and got a signature from her mother. Since her dad left her and her mother she only got a signature from her mother. The next day she proceeded in bringing the paper back to the supermarket. The manager took the paper and said "your job is to sweep the floors and feed Roxy the duck".
As the manager said those words Celia lit up. Celia started sweeping the floors.
Then the manager showed her Roxy and said "you can give her one cup of this duck food at 5:30 pm". Celia said "ok" And ran of to sweep the floors. As she was sweeping she watched as Roxy desperately tried to find away to get out of her cage. That made her more determined to adopt Roxy. She looked at the clock and realized it was 5:30. She got out the duck food and poured it in her bowl. Then she put the bowl in Roxy's pen. Roxy scarfed down the food like she hadn't eaten in a year. When she was done Celia carefully picked up the bowl and put it on a nearby table. Then she got a paycheck. When her work was done she walked home. She lay down on the couch sleepily. A few minutes later she went upstairs to bed. Soon days went by working until she counted up her money and had just enough to buy Roxy the duck. She walked over to the shop to buy the duck. When she walked In the manager told her she only had to sweep the floors because Roxy was just sold. When Celia heard those words her heart broke. She thought "I worked so hard and she was sold"! "oh ok". That was all she could manage to say. She swept the floors until they were squeaky clean. Then gloomily she walked home without a purpose in life. When she walked in she heard a Quack. She said to her mother "someone bought Roxy". "Well now she's yours". Her mother replied. Suddenly there was a Quack and than Roxy came out of the kitchen. "Wait you bought her for me". Celia said surprised. "Well I saw how hard you were working so I thought I'd buy her for you, now you can use the money you made for stuff she needs". There was a squeal of excitement in the house. Then a Quack which meant Roxy found her way to happy, but she shared it with Celia. Now you know the story of how Roxy found her way to happy.

On one fine summer day in Donutville, Joe the jelly filled donut was happy as can be playing basketball with his friends. He found a toy x-ray and saw he had no jelly! So, he goes around town asking his friends if anyone has seen his filling. Everyone said, “No”. He looked at the Donutville Post Office, not there. Next, he looked at the General Store, not there either! “Where could my jelly be?” Joe screamed. He searched the police station and asked Mr. Unibrow if he had seen his jelly. Mr. Unibrow said, “No Joe, haven’t seen any jelly around”. He then went to Dr. Brown’s office to see his Dr. Dr. Brown asked, “How do you know you lost your filling?” Joe replied, “I tried my friend’s toy x-ray and it showed no jelly inside.” “Toy x-rays are fake, Joe!” explained Dr. Brown. So, Dr. Brown gave Joe a real x-ray and it showed he did have filling after all.
Darkarai And the attack of Majicim #19 by Issac, Ebeling Elementary (Chapters 1-3)
Chapter I: Hidden Catacombs
Arbine (air-bin) Darmore (dar-more) searched the plains. He expected no wildlife during midnight. He could only hear the echoes of the element temple. Then, something odd changed everything about July, 9th 2154 12:01. A bolt of purple lightning came out of the ground. This could only mean one thing.
A battle would come. Arbine needed to communicate. He remembered the radio band he got from a broken metal walker. “Carter, Carter Flamescar (flame-scar),” he said through the speaker. There was silence for a minute. Then a voice spoke, “Arbine, this is Whalin (whale-in).” “Where is Flamescar?” Arbine asked. “Don’t know,” Whalin replied, “saw him an hour ago looking for something. He did- “Before Whalin could finish the band turned off.
“Must be the batteries,” Arbine said. Then, out in the distance the land changed. A small area a small distance away turned from grasslands to rock. Arbine needed a closer look. When he got to the rock he saw a trapdoor.
The trapdoor was wooden and had nails not fully in place. The hinges were loose and could be wiggled around. When Arbine opened the trapdoor, it made a squeak. There was a wooden ladder down. It too had nails out of place and two missing ones. It could also be wiggled.
Arbine climbed down the rough ladder keeping the door open in case of an escape. He entered a foggy camber lit only by torches. The walls of rock were carved with bones. Above the resting places of tombs empty or not had a carved skull. Arbine looked around walking until hitting an intersection.
“Why have you come…” a voice said. “Who are you,” Arbine replied. “I’m Majicim (magic-kim),” the voice said. Afraid of getting lost, Arbine mumbled something random, “You have no power!” he yelled. “You are… wrong... I’m part of… the Council of Elemental Destroyers,” majicim said.
He said as the troches burned out. “I see” Arbine said fearfully. Majicim continued, “now… find your way...” the area grew silent. The torches lit back up and some fell down. There was one difference. There was only one corridor and the floor was made of wood.
Arbine was in danger. Wasting a precious minute the floor started to burn up. Below it was a spike trap. Arbine knew what to do. He never tried it before. He smacked his hand on the ground and a tornado of dust surrounded him.
He had disappeared. “Where… have you... gone?” Majicim wondered. Arbine reappeared in a new corridor. It had a table made of rock. There were chains hanging down. “F… finally you found me,” a voice mumbled.
Carter Flamescar was there. “what where you searching for?” Arbine was curios. “The Purple lightning,” he replied. “Me too, but we got to get out of here,” Arbine said. All right he said. “You... shall… not escape…” Majicim echoed. Arbine and Carter were in danger.
Chapter 2: The Secret
The two needed a way to escape. Two armored figures appeared. They had black armor. Their helmets covering their face. There was a red stilt where the eyes could have been.
They both shoot fireballs as the two the found a small passage. It continued to the exit. When they left, the rock turned to grass. This time, Arbine saw the change up close. The rock split into triangles and filled to grass and dirt.
When they came back to the temple was almost dawn. The halls boomed with voices. Whalin was even surprised them Flamescar made it back. However, they weren’t safe. Majicim still lived.
“Master… Quantrum…” said Majicim. “Yes Majicim. Have you captured the Flamescar and Darmore sons?” Quantrum asked. “No… Seems Arbine… knows the… dark teleport…” Majicim said. “That isn’t pleasing. Not only did you fail, but I now need a whole new plan to destroy the temple of elements,” Quantrum said displeased.
In a mine creatures mine for crystals. The creatures had vertebrae and claws to crack the rock. The leader was Vimineterflan (Vi-mine-ter-flan). Viminterflan was once defeated by Tarn-Fleen Flamescar. This gave him a personal disliking for the flamescars over the darmore.
“Vimineterflan,” Quantrum said. “Yes,” he said. “Have you found a Vimo-ti-flare (vimo-tie-flare) crystal. “Yes, it was discovered two minutes ago,” Vimineterflan said. “You’re a bit too late,” Quantrum said displeased again. “What do you mean late?” Vimineterflan asked. “Arbine learned the dark teleport” Quantrum said. “How?” Vimineterflan asked. “Not sure,” Quantrum said.
During noon the halls where empty expect for the few mice that seem to bury their way in to the temple. Students ate lunch preparing for the practice tournament. “Whalin stands no chance against me!” Gigbin yelled. “He’ll never understand, Airlint,” Flem-a said. Gigbin was a fire user. Airlint and Flem-a where two air uses along with Whalin.
Gigbin brags a lot. He thought he was going to win. It was his very first year being a fire user. His family was a rock user family. It was in his last name. It was Geflask-o-min-o (G-flask-o-mine-o). The tournament was tomorrow. The first battle was scheduled to be Arbine Darmore vs. 10 spirits of Darkarai. Carter was going to fight 8 of them afterwards.
Chapter 3: Invasion!
The stadium was booming with activity. Arbine & Carter both one. The defeat was unexpected. They left before the timer was up. The first round of real matches began. Arbine stepped up to the top of a tower, “Welcome to the element tornament! The first 50 matches will be annoneced! First is Gigbin and Whalin. “Too bad for him,” Gigbin thought.
Then a purple lightning came from the ground. The sun turned instantly to a solar eclipse. Everyone got scraed. Whalin shoot out his shield of wind. Then the sky got dark, almost pitch black.
An armored beast slithered closer to the town surrounding the temple. Spikes surrounded the steel armor. And red eyes showed the front side of this beast. It was 55ft. long. It was Slindorrin!
Then Tider’s army followed. They had spears which can be tossed. Then, it would come back. Many fire users got on top of the walls surrounding the town. They shoot fireballs at the army. A battle begun.
Arbine made two dark axes. He needed a way to surprise the army. Carter made his 2 double fire swords. They are handles and swords on both sides. They hide be hide the gate.
When the army came they attacked. Breaking the spears was the only way to stop the army. Slindorrin slid into the sewers. The sewage pipes (made out of metal) screeched as the spikes of slinddorrin scratched the surface of the pipes. Getting in the temple was difficult. With everyone at the walls it was easier.
That was without the citizens sometimes looking at architecture. “They aren’t a problem,” thought slindorrin. Risking his life was normal. He had been defeated 3 (5 when counting portal) times. He wasn’t afraid of it. Mighty would help him. When he got to the temple a harder mission started.
To be Continued…
The Three Rocks Golems by Nathan, Immanuel Lutheran School
Have you ever heard of the three little pigs? I bet you have. Now the three little pigs are great but have you ever heard of their cousins, the rock golems? If not keep reading to find out.
There were once three magical rock golems. Creg is lazy and grey. He only uses his powers to make Doritos. Greg is blacker than night and takes the easy way out. He toys with his magic. Jocob is redder than fire and hard working. He uses his powers to help others. All of them are made out of magical universe ore.
The three rock golems live in a plain. It is very grassy. The grass is greener than money. It smells like grass. It is silent.
So the three rock golems decided to build houses. Creg made his house out of Doritos. Greg made his house out of rock. Jacob made his house out of invisible magic.
Sadly, the big bad wolf has a cousin too. THE EVIL ROCK MINER! The evil rock miner is chubby, a little tall, wears a construction hat with a flashlight, a big yellow shirt with jeans, and always has his pickax.
The evil Rock miner wants the magical universe ore because it is worth a lot of money. First he went to Creg’s house. Creg didn’t come out so the evil rock miner ate his house. Creg rant o Greg so the evil rock miner went to Greg’s. They didn’t come out so the evil rock miner mind up his house. They ran to Jacob so the evil rock miner tried to find them but Jacob’s house was invisible. And they lived happily ever.
