You are responsible for all materials borrowed on your card and agree to abide by library lending rules and all policies and regulations.
Resident Card
People who live or own property in Clinton or Macomb Townships (not residing in the Mount Clemens School District) will be issued a resident card upon application without fee. Appropriate identification will be required at the time of registration. The library supports the ALA Freedom to Read statement and does not have the right to limit juvenile access in place of the parents or guardians.
Courtesy Card
Persons who work, but do not reside in Clinton or Macomb Townships will be issued a courtesy library card upon proof of employment in the service area and proof of home address.
Nonresident Card
Individuals residing in the Suburban Library Cooperative service but outside of the CMPL legal service area, are eligible to use their home library card and be issued a guest account with CMPL. Nonresident cardholders have the same borrowing privileges as any other CMPL cardholder, but they are restricted from some services like Priority Holds and In the Queue, and they may have restricted access to some subscription databases or downloadable content purchased for residents in the legal service area.
MI-Library Card
Clinton-Macomb Public Library is a participant in the MI-Library Card program. Customers may borrow from participating libraries throughout the State of Michigan according to established reciprocal agreements with these institutions. Circulation is limited to print materials and computer/internet access only.
Purchased Card
Persons who are not eligible for a resident or SLC nonresident card can purchase an SLC-wide card for $200. This library card account can be used by any member of a family and allows full checkout privileges. The card is valid for one year, and must be re-purchased annually.
Visitor Card
Persons who do not have a library card can sign up for a free visitor card. This card allows for internet access privileges only at the Clinton-Macomb Public Library’s three locations. There are no circulation privileges with this card.
Teacher Cards
Teachers who work at a school located within Clinton or Macomb Township are eligible for a library card. Applicants must bring their home library card to be registered with us as well as a current pay stub from the school district.
